Creating FROM MY STUDIO IN CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND.

Where we have a dream climate for those that love an English style of garden and flowers. As I do. It’s a happy coincidence that my name is English, entirely lucky I think. I am very much inspired by all those gorgeous historical houses and gardens though!

  • I arrange with seasonal flowers from local growers, stems from my own cutting garden and sustainably foraged treasures chosen for their natural movement and form. They are inspired by botanical studies, often romantic and soft, and sometimes moody. With tendrils and arching stems, they are flowers that honour artisans of the past.

I love creating for and teaching people who adore garden-style flowers, along with a more elevated and elegant style. Those who love nuanced colours, and exquisite details. Those who love the way flowers bring an atmosphere of magic and celebration. You might be planning a wedding or a special occasion. Maybe you’re a gardener, a grower, or simply a flower lover who would like to explore your creativity and join me to learn and create with flowers.

  • “Your flowers, they stand apart. You truly have a gift for sculpting and painting with them”

    Jimmie

  • “Katherine’s gentle and approachable way of sharing knowledge, both in flowers and photography was most helpful in my journey. The photography tips were instrumental in building my Instagram portfolio, which led to my dream job!”

WEDDING & EVENT FLOWERS

When thinking about wedding flowers, I understand it’s hard to know where to start, especially as it’s very likely that this is your first time planning a wedding. I help you to see where to put your focus for the most impact, what will look best for photos, and what is perfect for the mood and feel you have in mind. Flowers can utterly transform your day, and  will be such a treasured part of your wedding. Your flowers will create an atmosphere of beauty and romance that you and your guests will remember always.

  • I imagine each arrangement and bouquet as a work of art, crafted especially for that bride and season. With every bud, stem and tendril coming together to create an effortless elegance, full and with exquisite details.

Every wedding, bride, and special occasion is a treasured and valued connection that I put my heart into fully. I would love to create the beauty of a magical garden for your day.

FLOWER WORKSHOPS & CLASSES

Learn about sustainable flower design, with local seasonal flowers, and stems from my cutting garden, along with foraged treasures. One of the most beautiful parts of this way, is that every season reveals its own floral beauty, something that I absolutely love.

  • My way of arranging is about knowing which type of flowers to select, how to gather an exquisite colour palette, the movement of stems to look for when picking, with the way and order that the flowers are placed. It’s about looking for that stem that has bends and wiggles, and knowing where to give it it’s moment of glory.

Classes are from my studio and other special places further afield sometimes. All you need is a love of flowers, and a desire to experience a time of inspiration and nurturing.

“YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW wonderful IT IS TO COME OUT OF THE DARK FRUSTRATION OF BEING UNABLE TO CRYSTALLISE SUCH visions YOU MAY HAVE, & TO FIND SUDDENLY A POSSIBLE MEDIUM OF EXPRESSION.”
